“i integrate lived experience, research, and the depths of the human condition to create stories that challenge the antiquated ideologies our society is built upon.”

hayley’s work is explorative, imaginative, and intuitively political. they blend both physical and visual language to push the work forward, focusing on embodied storytelling that stretches across the footlights, allowing audiences to viscerally connect to the narrative, themes, and characters before them. their work is radically inclusive, multi-voiced, and aimed to ignite conversation, addressing the current political and social landscape in America. their work as a creator and director follows a non hierarchical approach and specifically focuses on queer liberation and history.

hayley has developed work with Ars Nova, LDK Productions, Lookingglass Theatre Company, SoHo Playhouse, 16th Street Theatre, Davenport Theatrical Enterprises, Fringe Encore Series, Chicago Dramatists, SoHo Playhouse, and Theater Unspeakable. in the last 5 years hayley has devised, directed, and produced over thirty different US and World Premieres in New York and Chicago.

hayley has worked as an adjunct professor at The Theatre School at DePaul university and The University of Alabama at Birmingham, where they lead group devising, physical embodied storytelling, and viewpoints through applied performance. in Fall of 2023 they co-directed a new adaptation of Games by Henry Naylor (TTS) after assistant directing the successful Off-Broadway US Premiere.

outside of the arts

hayley loves rock climbing, board games, hitting a good estate sale, craft beer, bragging about their Connections score in multiple group chats, walks by Promontory point, and backpacking. in the wake of unemployment they temporarily left theatre behind to solo trek through the wilderness across the country, which you can read about here.
